Kensington Palace will shortly be releasing the 2025 Christmas card from the Prince and Princess of Wales. The festive card typically features a portrait of the family of five taken earlier in the year and is sent to friends, family and charities.

It’s a sweet Christmas tradition that many royal fans look forward to, and several members of the Royal Family have released their festive offerings already. This includes the King and Queen and Princess Anne.

As we look forward to the William and Catherine releasing their card, the Daily Express takes a look back at what images they have released from 2017-2024.

8. 2020 Christmas Card

This photograph was taken in the autumn by Matt Porteous. The family snap was taken at Anmer Hall in Norfolk and shows them sitting on a hay barrel with a number of stacked logs behind them. It was taken in the midst of the coronvirus lockdown and helped to raise the nation’s spriits.

7. 2017 Christmas Card

Taken a year before Prince Louis was born, young Charlotte and George take centre stage in this formal family portrait. Dressed in matching blue, the image is very sweet and perhaps hints at the new arrival in the spring.

6. 2021 Christmas Card

In 2021, the family photograph was captured during a holiday to Jordan earlier that year. William sits on a golden stool, with Charlotte and George sat on either side and young Louis on a sheepskin-style rug.

5. 2023 Christmas Card

Taken by Josh Shinner, this year’s card has a very modern feel to it. Shared in black-and-white, the family are dressed casually in white shirts and jeans as they pose in a studio. Charlotte sits on a chair in the centre as the rest of the family gather around, in a nod to traditional royal portraits.

4. 2018 Christmas Card

Young Prince Louis makes his debut in 2018, perched on his mum’s lap. The sweet image shows the family in a woodland setting, and was taken in the autumn at their country home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk. It showcases the family’s playfulside, as well as their love of nature.
