Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen shared snaps of daughter Clemmy learning electrical skills during the family’s ongoing Anty John farmhouse renovation.
Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has revealed a significant farming development as her daughter Clemmy rolled up her sleeves for some hard graft.
The Shepherdess is presently woeking with her former partner Clive on an ambitious venture – restoring a property in the Yorkshire Dales.
The pair initially acquired the crumbling farmhouse in 2020, a wreck with a collapsed roof that has required years of meticulous restoration and refurbishment.
The 1800s dwelling sits in Swaledale close to Ravenseat Farm and bears the name Anty John in honour of a previous occupant, Anthony John Clarkson.
Viewers have tracked the venture through the programme Our Farm Next Door, and it proved a challenging journey for the Owen household. Amanda has subsequently relocated her brood of nine to the residence, though considerable work remains outstanding.

Providing her supporters with progress on their restoration endeavour, Amanda turned to Instagram to post photographs of her 10 year old daughter Clemmy tackling electrical work whilst emphasising it represents a lifelong ability.
Accompanying the images, she penned: “Practical hands on experiences, nurturing natural inquisitiveness and the satisfaction of being able to problem solve and find solutions. That’s what life on the farm provides and those skills are transferable and needed in all walks of life.”
She added: “A bit of patience is all that is needed. It takes nothing but a bit of time to ignite their enthusiasm (and the burner hopefully).”
The television personality confessed: “The renovation of Anty Johns is a huge undertaking and seeing the professional trades at work has been enlightening (too many puns). The level of skill and understanding it takes in the trades is often overlooked so we have a newfound appreciation of what it takes to be a professional plumber, electrician, builder, joiner, carpenter, plasterer.”

She continued: “Our lal’ efforts are nowt in comparison, we know our limitations but who knows when that spark of enthusiasm might be the start of a new vocation for one of the children.”
Supporters quickly filled the comments section with encouraging messages, with one stating: “Brilliant! Your kids will always know what to do, how to fix things, how to make use of natural resources and survive!”
A second person posted: “What an amazing family! Clemmie your a little star well done your the best.” Whilst a third commented: “That’s brilliant. Those skills are for life. I wish other young people could see how important they are. Well done Clemie.”
One more follower remarked: “There are no ends to you and your family’s talents. And it’s great that they all want to learn these life skills.”
