Resurfaced video of Meghan Markle mocking ‘obnoxious’ $100 candles fuels fresh criticism
The Duchess of Sussex now sells her own candles under her As Ever brand.

A video of Meghan Markle slating $100 candles has resurfaced online as the Duchess continues to sell her own As Ever candles. The video, taken when Meghan had her own lifestyle blog, The Tig, shows the Duchess, who was not married into the Royal Family at the time, speaking into a microphone.
She can be heard criticising the idea of selling candles for a high price. She said in the interview: “100 dollar candles on my site… that’s so obnoxious.” The video has resurfaced and caught people’s attention online, especially after Meghan sold her own candles under her As Ever lifestyle brand over the last few months.

Someone else commented: “Ironically, she is now selling candles on her website for more than $100. This is how your own words can come back to bite you.”

Another person said: “That was before she thought she could ask that kind of price. Now she thinks she deserves it.”
While some people may think the candles are overpriced, other fans of the duchess love the As Ever candles.
The candles are inspired by important moments in Meghan’s life such as her wedding day, her Montecito home and her children’s birthdays.
Meghan is expected to launch a new candle-related product on her As Ever website today, having dropped a hint yesterday on the brand’s Instagram account.
Sharing a photograph of a candle and what looks like As Ever matches, the caption read: “A small spark, arriving tomorrow.”
