Our Yorkshire Farms Amanda Owen made a candid admission as she opened up about her recent battle with “seriously cold conditions” on Raveseat Farm.
The Yorkshire shepherdess, 50, who rose to fame on the Channel 5 programme, announced in 2022 that she was splitting from her husband Clive Owen but would continue to work with him on the farm and co-parent their children.
Away from our TV screen the star is still keeping her many fans up-to-date on her busy life and the recent weather, which has seen ice and snow has made her life difficult.
Taking to her Instagram, Amanda shared a series of videos as she spoke about the battle with the big freeze as she struggled to look for one of her sheep.
In one clip, the mum-of-nine can be seen walking through the icy field on the hunt for her farm animal, however she wasn’t having much luck. Unfortunately the weather got worse so she was forced to head back to her truck.
Speaking to the camera, she revealed: “The weather has taken a turn for the worst, it is now snowing and it is so cold. I say it’s cold but it is warmer than it was but it’s just snowing before it was just icy but now it’s wet snow.”
She added: “No sign of Blindie Eye (her sheep) but I’m sure she is fine but I just need this weather to calm down so she can come out of where she is hiding.
“I’m sure she is sheltering under the wind somewhere. I just wanted treat her but anyway I can only do my best”
Alongside the post, she wrote: “I am so far behind with EVERYTHING! So here goes with an update on what’s been happening.
“Seriously cold conditions, little in the way of snow but temperatures well below zero and a wind chill that takes your breath away.”

The star added: “Today the temperature lifted and I set out to look for a yow that I caught sight of a couple of days ago. She was travelling fast, in the opposite direction, high stepping with her head up looking like her vision was impaired.
“Never see her yesterday or today, she’s out there somewhere. Hide and seek…..with sheep. Not a game that I’m so fond of when the weather turns.”
The comment section was flooded with sweet messages from fans as one said: “You are so committed.” Another said: “You’re made of tough stuff & put us all to shame! Hope you’re warmed up now!”
A third wrote: “You’re a warrior shepherdess.” Meanwhile one fan added: “To have such an experience. A mother who never gives up fighting against the scorching heat of summer, the rain of spring, and the snow of winter.”
