Princess Beatrice has “lost all hope” of becoming a working royal as the scandal around the House of York deepens, according to new claims.
Sources suggested the 37-year-old wanted to help ease the burden on King Charles and Prince William by carrying out more royal engagements.
The insider said: “Beatrice does want to be a working royal, and she wants to do royal events to help her uncle because she’d enjoy them and she would be good at the job.
“Charles apparently appreciates this . . . There had at one stage been a feeling that Bea could have been lined up one day.

“She’s never put a foot wrong, don’t forget – and she shouldn’t be punished for the sins of her father.”
The source continued to tell the Mail: “But the King’s courtiers are concerned Andrew could try to ‘get in via the back door’ by exerting influence over her.”
Charles is said to admire Beatrice’s elegance and enthusiasm during joint appearances.
In addition, he recognises the need for more working royals as he continues treatment for an undisclosed cancer and the Princess of Wales recovers from her own illness.

But with his firm stance against “half-in-half-out” roles, aides now insist “nothing ever will” come of their mutual appreciation.
The hard line follows fresh US Congress files released on Friday night containing phone message logs, flight records and financial ledgers belonging to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, naming Prince Andrew and billionaire Elon Musk among others.
Courtiers fear more damaging revelations, with reports that the cache includes over 100 emails that “could destroy Andrew”.
These disclosures come after damaging claims in Andrew Lownie’s biography, Entitled, and the emergence of emails in which Sarah Ferguson called Epstein a “supreme friend” after his 2011 conviction for sex offences.

Last week, eight charities cut ties with the Duchess of York after the email’s publication.
Despite the pressure, Beatrice maintained a public calm, lunching with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at Scott’s in Mayfair on Thursday.
Friends of the Duchess of York added that Beatrice prefers running her own charity events to formal royal duties.
