The NFL has made a surprising decision on Jalen Carter following the DT’s violent hit on Patrick Mahomes during Super Bowl LIX last Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles star knocked the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback to the ground, shoving him in the helmet after he was stripped of the football in the fourth quarter. The Eagles recovered the ball and were allowed to take their defense off the field, as no penalty was called.

The NFL has since reviewed the play and decided against fining Carter. However, his teammate Milton Williams has been fined $14,069 for dunking the ball over the crossbar after making the strip sack on Mahomes.

Williams will have no qualms over forking over the amount as he’s now a Super Bowl champion. The defensive lineman will likely be in for a huge contract in the offseason, given that he’s set to become a free agent later this year.

He is sure to attract plenty of suitors after an impressive campaign in which he registered 24 total tackles, five sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a pass breakup.

Carter will be even happier, having avoided a fine himself while winning in the pros in just his second year after capturing two National Titles at Georgia.
