Josh admitted he felt “completely shattered.” Josh added that his son had been in a car accident and had to be airlifted out. Jett lost his battle with his right leg and was fighting for his life. He asked fans to pray so Jett could pull through it with no further complications. “I love him more than life itself,” Josh added.

Josh and his ex-wife Candice began providing fans with regular updates about Jett and his recovery through Instagram. Just three days following the accident, Josh revealed that Jett had undergone surgery on his left leg. The muscle, tissue, veins, and nerves in his leg were all healing and progressively getting stronger. Jett was not under sedation anymore and was waking up with a lot of questions. At the time, Jett’s mother said that her son was being “feisty and sweet” and he was going to rest so he could get another operation on both his legs.

According to the GoFundMe, Jett’s friend, Diego Armenta, organized the fundraiser on behalf of Candice. Diego posted about how Jett was still fighting for his life. Diego appreciated that Jett had been a friend to many and was the type of person who made everyone feel like he was their best friend. Diego added that Jett is outgoing and always has a smile on his face. So far, they’ve raised $34, 358 out of $50,000.
