Lorraine Kelly was notably missing from her self-titled ITV programme following an announcement over the weekend that she would be undergoing keyhole surgery.
The 65-year-old host from Scotland, informed her followers that she had been feeling unwell for a while, leading to various scans and consultations with health specialists, resulting in her decision to proceed with the surgery.
On Monday, May 5, viewers were greeted by Sian Welby from This Morning, who expressed how “very lucky” she felt to step in while Lorraine was recovering, reports Edinburgh Live.
Sian updated fans on Lorraine’s status, stating: “First though, before we get started obviously we want to wish Lorraine a speedy recovery.”
She offered up warm wishes, mentioning: “You might have seen her post over the weekend. She’s been in hospital for an operation; I know she’s planning to be back here as soon as she can.”

Discussing the situation with her colleague Tyler West, who was present on the show, Sian reiterated: “We’re sending her our love and well wishes aren’t we?”
Tyler agreed, saying: “We’re sending her all the love on this Monday morning.” Adding to the sentiment, Tyler highlighted: “And also that she’s following doctors’ orders and it’s very hard to get Lorraine to follow any orders, so I’m glad that she’s resting, she’s taking her time out.”

It was at this point, Tyler enthusiastically welcomed Sian to the show, declaring: “More importantly as well, welcome to you. Sian Welby’s in the building!”
The Capital radio show’s star made a light-hearted comment, saying: “Who let me do this?” While Tyler couldn’t hide his excitement, adding: “This is it, flying solo. I am so excited that you’re here.”

Over the weekend, Lorraine Kelly took to Instagram to keep her followers in the loop about her health, revealing from the hospital that she was undergoing surgery.
“Just wanted to let you know that I’m having a wee procedure today,” she explained. “I’ve not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out.”
Lorraine continued, reassuring fans: “It’s purely preventative, it’s going to be with keyhole surgery which is incredible. I’m being very well looked after and I’ll obviously see you really soon.”
She concluded with a positive note, adding: “I’m going to be totally fine and I’ll see you soon.”
