Wheel of Fortune host Ryan Seacrest showed – quite literally – how he would ‘dive’ into a new bit for the show.
Last week’s theme of the long-running game show was Festivals and Celebrations, and at the end of one episode, the 50-year-old host showcased his new favorite.
‘Well, I found my new favorite festival. It’s called Gloucester Cheese Rolling Festival in the UK,’ Seacrest began, which came after a crude joke divided fans.
He added, ‘participants race down a hill chasing after a wheel of cheese, but in the end, you get the cheese. So, what could be better?’
His co-host Vanna White was standing by with a Wheel of Fortune-branded wheel as they showed footage of the bizarre festival behind them.
Vanna asked, ‘Are you ready to try it?’ Seacrest insisted, ‘I was born for this,’ as Vanna rolled the wheel across the stage and Seacrest ran and dived for it on the studio floor, which seemingly stunned Vanna and the audience.

While you couldn’t see Seacrest’s mighty dive on the telecast, the Wheel of Fortune Instagram posted a new video showcasing his sprint for the fake cheese.
He returned triumphantly to Vanna with the wheel as the episode came to an end, as fans couldn’t help but chime in with dozens of comments.
RobCorley95 stated, ‘Who in the wheel world knew that Ryan could run that fast for cheese?’ while rachael.88 said, ‘That was awesome!!’
Another user dubbed raleighpdx said, ‘Love this so much!’ while darrelpullie joked, ‘Tis but a scratch! He’ll live!’
Margarita Coego simply added ‘Ryan Seacrest is great! and Eugene Byon joked, ‘Vanna had better be ready to step in for Ryan in case he injures himself!’
Kim Klein said, ‘Ryan did not disappoint, while Brian Johnston said simply, ‘Awesome.’
When Seacrest took over from longtime host Pat Sajak, many were skeptical, though many like Karin Nilsson have been won over.
‘Ryan is wonderful. Wheel is where I’ve really learned and appreciated how awesome he is. Great choice!’ Nilsson said of the host in the comments.

The festival is officially called Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake, which dates all the way back to 1826.
Participants do in fact run down the 200-yard Cooper Hill, chasing after a wheel of Double Gloucester Cheese, though they don’t actually catch it.
The cheese is given quite a bit of a head start, and it can roll at speeds upwards of 80 miles per hour, according to So Glos, with the winner being the first to reach the bottom of the hill.
The event happens every May during a spring bank holiday, with this year’s event taking place on Monday, May 26.
