Gino D’Acampo and Gordon Ramsay were once close friends – and their children even dated

TV chefs Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo were once seemingly the best of friends – and even teamed up for their popular ITV show, Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip.

However, cracks in their relationship began to show in 2019 when Gordon openly expressed his anger over the fact that his teenage daughter, Tilly, was dating Gino’s son, Luciano. Both 17 at the time, the young couple made headlines after meeting on the set of their fathers’ joint ITV food show.

Gordon, clearly not thrilled with the relationship, referred to it as a “nightmare.” The tension now casts a new light on their friendship, especially as their relationship has reportedly soured in recent months following workplace misconduct accusations against Gino – which he denies.

Gordon’s discomfort became clear when he stumbled upon the young couple on a date. While filming Gordon, Gino and Fred: American Road Trip, the Hell’s Kitchen star discovered Tilly and Luciano together during a FaceTime call.

When Luciano revealed he was dining at one of Ramsay’s restaurants, Heddon Street Kitchen, Gordon was clearly unimpressed as Luciano panned the camera to reveal Tilly. “Tilly, what are you doing, Matilda?” Gordon asked, while Luciano explained, “We’re on a date, we’ve gone for dinner.”

Gordon responded, “Tilly, you didn’t tell me you were going to dinner with Luciano,” to which she cheekily replied, “Oh, sorry, I must have forgotten!” Their co-host Fred Sirieix added, “Remember, guys, it’s okay to kiss on the first date!”

While Tilly seemed happy with the romance, Gordon was far from pleased. During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, he referred to the situation as a “f**king nightmare” and downplayed the relationship by calling them “just friends.” Jonathan humorously responded, “I think they’re more than that,” which made the audience laugh.

In contrast, Gino was more positive about the romance, expressing his delight that his son was dating Gordon’s daughter. He told This Morning: “Tilly is beautiful. They’ve known each other for a few years now. I don’t want to say much because it’s none of my business, but it’s a pleasure knowing my son is dating Gordon’s daughter—just to annoy him!”

Luckily for Gordon, the romance quickly faded, and Tilly moved on to a relationship with a university student, Henry Farrow. It’s unknown whether Luciano is currently dating anyone.

Gordon and Gino continued to work together, travelling Europe together for Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip. However, Gino walked away from the show in 2023 over what he claimed were ‘contract complications’ and their relationship appears to have cooled dramatically since.

He emphasised that his decision was unrelated to his friendships with Gordon or Fred, noting that he valued their relationship too much to let contract issues interfere. After Gino’s departure, Gordon expressed frustration with his co-stars on Spencer Matthews’ Big Fish podcast.

He admitted that, while they were great friends, they were “incredible pains in the a**.” He joked that Gino and Fred were so lazy that their antics made Ramsay look good by comparison.

“An hour in, Gino wants an espresso or his eyebrows plucked, and ninety minutes in, Fred’s missing his croissant and his eyeliner,” Ramsay quipped. “But we do get on, though… after a few days, it’s like, ‘Move over, I want more room in the bed,’ or, ‘Can we have a break? They don’t work hard.’”

Now, it appears much more has come between the former Road Trip co-stars. Most recently, Gordon has been accused of “throwing Gino under the bus” as he tries to defend his own reputation after working so closely.

While Gino faces serious allegations of inappropriate behaviour over the past 12 years, Gordon has not publicly supported his former co-star, who denies all claims. It’s believed that “over 40 people” have been spoken to by the broadcasting outlet as part of their investigation. These people have either witnessed or experienced alleged inappropriate and intimidating behaviour by Gino.

A source has claimed that in recent years, their friendship took a turn with the Scottish chef said to have been “horrified” by Gino’s alleged behaviour and that the pair are no longer on speaking terms as the foul-mouthed chef continues to distance himself.

According to Mail Online, it was Gordon who raised concerns about Gino’s conduct two years ago, which eventually led to the end of their show and, seemingly, their friendship. “Gordon found there was a lot of unacceptable behaviour going on, he saw things he didn’t think were okay so he spoke up. That was that, friendship over,” the source said.
