The case of Rapper Yung Joc’s three nephews p:as:sed away in the fi.re: They discovered a strange detail, but who is responsible for this?

The rapper shared on his radio show that the three children who died were family members.

Rapper Yung Joc said his family is hurting behind the loss of three young children who died after an apartment fire this week in Atlanta.

The rapper shared on his radio show, Yung Joc and The Streetz Morning Takeover that airs on Streetz 94.5, that the children killed were his family members. A clip from the show was shared on social media.

“I think I may have just dropped a bomb on people because I don’t think people knew that was my brother’s family, the kids. And again, I just have to say it. I want people to know I intentionally did not want to speak out on it because I did not want to overshadow this story,” he said, adding that he’s human.

“I’m hurting, my family’s hurting, my brother’s hurting, his girlfriend’s hurting and I don’t think it’s really hit just yet,” he said. “I think they’re still in shock a little.”

Atlanta Fire Rescue said crews responded to the apartment complex in the 300 block of Fairburn Road on Feb. 19 around 3:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call. Atlanta Fire Rescue Chief Smith said crews found fire and smoke coming from a second story apartment.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and contained the fire to the apartment. Atlanta Fire Rescue said those inside had already made it out. Crews rendered aid at the scene to the young children before they were rushed to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. However, the fire chief said they died.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said the mother of the children confirmed their identities as 9-month-old Xhalia White, 1-year-old Xyla White and 4-year-old Jhacari White. The medical examiner’s office said Xyla’s second birthday would have been Feb. 20 — the day after the fire.

Yung Joc said he attended a vigil for the children on Thursday.

“It wasn’t just for their lives being lost, it was actually the middle child’s birthday,” he said.

He said at the vigil, his niece shared a message about her sister’s birthday. He played an audio clip of it on the radio show and got emotional thinking about the tragedy.

“I don’t know if you understand the level of trauma this brings to our community and the family that this affects directly or indirectly. I’m sad, I’m hurt, I’m human and I’m trying to be professional,” he said as he reflected on the grief.

Fire officials believe the cause of the fire may have been electrical, but an investigation is taking place to determine what sparked the flames.
