Shania Twain has teamed up with Nestle’s Coffee Mate for a unique Super Bowl commercial, where she lends her voice to a rather unexpected character – a tongue.

The 30-second ad, set to air during the championship football game, promotes Coffee Mate’s new cold foam creamers, which will hit the market on game day, February 9.

The new creamers come in three flavors: Nestle Toll House Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie, Italian Sweet Crème, and French Vanilla.

In the commercial, a man is seen enjoying his coffee with the cold foam creamer, which suddenly brings his tongue to life.

The tongue, voiced by Shania, breaks into song, exclaiming, “Let’s go tongues!” as it twirls and flips with excitement.

The tongue sings: “I’m a dancing tongue and I like the taste of cold foam” and “Have you ever seen a tongue do this? ” The ad ends with the man and his friend playfully spraying the cold foam creamer into their mouths.

Shania told Variety that she had to have a good sense of humor to take on the role, and that she approached the character with a “flirty” tone.

She described the tongue as “liberated and agile” and said she visualized “the joy of tasting this cold foam, and I really got into it.”

In a conversation with PEOPLE, the You’re The One artist explained that her participation in the advertisement “made technical sense” especially “on a nerdy level” given the complexity of muscle involvement that people often overlook.

She described the experience as “very fun.” Shania also discussed the song “Gimme Cold Foam,” featured in the trailer, which she crafted for her partnership with the creamer brand.

The catchy tune will be available for purchase and streaming later this month.

Shania said: “The song itself is so catchy and fun and boppy. It was just like the ultimate pop bop, and it felt like something I wanted to get into just for the fun of it,” adding, “I had to get the feeling, get my tongue around it, I guess you could say.”

While Shania enjoyed the commercial, some viewers expressed distaste. One fan commented on X: “That is disgusting.”

Another viewer shared: “Creepiest commercial. Ick feeling after watching.”

However, another fan praised the ad: “I admit it ….Only Shania could turn a tongue into a superstar! Can’t wait to hear this ‘boppy’ tune-sounds like a wild commercial!”
