Bryce James echoes his dad when it comes to basketball.

Last summer, the 17-year-old was involved in an altercation with an opponent and reacted just like his father LeBron would have.

The younger James enjoyed a strong basketball campaign across the various different circuits last year.

In 14 games last spring with the Strive For Greatness (SFG) grassroots program on the Nike EYBL circuit, Bryce averaged 6.9 points and 2.2 rebounds

At the Nike Peach Jam, he played five games with SFG, averaging 5.6 points. His best performance came against NightRydas Elite, scoring 12 points in 23 minutes of action.

The teenager also found himself in a heated moment with an opponent during a contest against Boo Williams.

During the matchup, one of the Boo Williams players appeared to trash talk the 17-year-old while he was sitting down.

Instead of reciprocating his energy with further talk, James stayed calm, remained in his seat as teammates swarmed around him, and plotted his revenge.

Moments after, James returned to the hardwood and blocked the same player who had been talking trash as he went to score a layup.

Footage of the exchange recently resurfaced on social media, with fans noting the similarities between James and his father LeBron — who is known to let his talents do the talking for him.

“Just like his pops, Bryce James got that dawg in him,” one fan wrote in reference to how calm the teenager remained.

“Bryce may be LeBron’s true heir to basketball— I like to see how he develops in college,” another fan posted on X.

“That competitive spirit runs in the family. It’ll be exciting to see how he develops his game. Future star for sure,” a user posted after watching how passionate James was.

When it comes to basketball, all is going well for James.

Just last month, the teen announced he was committing to Arizona for the Wildcats’ 2025 class.

James made the announcement on Instagram, with the caption “100% committed.”

The four-star prospect is currently playing for Sierra Canyon in California after rejecting offers from Ohio State and Duquesne.

With Arizona awaiting Bryce later this year, the young star will hope to continue playing at a high level as he prepares for college basketball next season.

His older brother Bronny also placed in the NCAA last year, spending one season with USC in 2023-24 but a cardiac arrested limited him to just six starts.

Nevertheless, the 20-year-old was selected by the Lakers in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft to team him up with his iconic father.

Bronny and LeBron became the first active father-son duo to suit up in the NBA, adding yet more history to ‘The King’s’ legacy.

However, Bronny’s NBA minutes have been limited during his rookie campaign.

He has largely played in the NBA G League for the Lakers’ affiliate South Bay Lakers as he continues to hone his skills.
