Jason Kelce confessed he might be in the doghouse after causing a bit of a mess on his podcast.
The 2017 Super Bowl champion – a 12-year veteran with the Philadelphia Eagles – showed off his fun side during the latest instalment of his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother and fellow NFL heavyweight, Travis Kelce. The episode featured basketball icon LeBron James as their star guest.
With all eyes on him, Kelce ecstatically introduced the impressive sports figure, saying: “Joining us today, the 6’9′ forward from Akron, Ohio. The number one pick of the 2003 NBA Draft, 2004 Rookie of the Year, 20-time NBA All-Star, and four-time MVP. Four-time NBA champion, three-time gold medallist, and the NBA all-time leader in career points.”
Amped up with excitement, he added: “That’s right, 92 percenters, please welcome northeast Ohio’s finest – Mr LeBron James,” before tossing a cloud of white powder into the air, showering himself and the surroundings, much to the amusement of an onlooking James.
In between fits of laughter, James said: “Yo Jason, that might have been the greatest introduction of all time, followed at the end with the powder…oh my goodness, you guys are f***ing unbelievable,” reports the Mirror US. As they chuckled over the mishap, the NBA star asked: “Who’s going to clean that s*** up now?”
Quick to realise the impending grumbles, Kelce admitted: “Kylie is not going to be happy about this,” prompting brother Travis to joke: “Jason, you’ve got to blow the powder away. You’ve got to study the technique man. This guy looks like a f***ing ghost man, that s***’s great dog.”
James has had a glittering career since being snapped up by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the first pick in the 2003 NBA draft. After a seven-year stint with the Cavaliers, he took his talents to South Beach, joining the Miami Heat in 2010 and spending four years there before making a celebrated return to Cleveland in 2014.

Now a key figure for the LA Lakers since 2018, the 40-year-old shows no signs of slowing down, boasting four NBA Championships and Finals MVP awards. His prowess extends beyond the NBA court, having secured Olympic glory with Team USA, bagging gold medals in the 2008, 2014, and 2024 Games.
Yet, LeBron’s sporting journey could have taken a very different route. He was once a promising football receiver at St Vincent-St Mary High School in Ohio. With a balanced 4-4 record, he ultimately chose to pursue basketball over football.
In a chat with Travis, LeBron mused what NFL star he could’ve been like, saying: “Probably like a mix between Gronk [Rob Gronkowski] or Randy Moss a little bit – but he’s a lot smaller than me. He runs a lot faster, but he’s a lot smaller than me.”
He added: “Megatron [Calvin Johnson] we kind of have that same like stature as far as build or whatever the case may be. Tony Gonzalez, with him and his size – and obviously he played basketball as well. I used to love his celebration where he used to dunk on the goal posts.”
The NBA legend also confessed that switching to the NFL wasn’t just a fleeting thought at one in his basketball career, adding: “The only time I’ve taken it super-duper serious was 2011, NBA lockout… I didn’t know when we were going to make the deal with our owners and get our league back going. So I actually thought about it a little bit back then. I was still young enough to get out there with y’all. That’s the only time I’ve seriously considered it.”
