The Lakers faced a Rockets team that clinched its No. 2 playoff spot and sat its stars in their last game of the season.
Los Angeles played their bench players in garbage time as they went on to claim the 140-19 blowout win.
In just four minutes of play, LeBron James’ son drilled his ninth three-pointer of the campaign, which tied Jordan in his first NBA season in 1984-85.
In the following game, which was the final regular-season contest for the Lakers, Bronny played in 38 minutes against the Portland Trailblazers but failed to eclipse Jordan’s three-pointer amount, going 0-2 from three.
Bronny finished his campaign with 62 points, 18 rebounds, and 22 assists in 27 games for the Lakers.
While Bronny tied MJ’s three-point count, his season is nowhere close to the icon’s rookie numbers.
Jordan averaged 28.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists and totaled 2,313 points – 2,251 more than Bronny’s rookie mark.
The North Carolina product won the Rookie of the Year award and was on the All-NBA second team.
Nonetheless, social media users were stunned that Bronny tied Jordan on a statistical list.
“This the craziest stat I’ve ever seen in my life,” one wrote.
“[Bronny] is the future Jordan then,” another added.
“Mind you, Jordan was a 25 year old 5 year college player by the time he got in the league and this 19 year old measures up to him,” a third said.
Jordan won six titles with a perfect NBA Finals record and is regarded as the best basketball player of all time.
The youngster Bronny, meanwhile, will try to win his first NBA title as the Lakers gear up for the playoffs.
The Lakers went 50-32 and are the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.

They will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the postseason.
The Lakers will hope to win a title for the first time since their 2020 NBA Bubble win.
They have since been eliminated in the first round in 2021 and 2024.
The Lakers also got swept by the eventual NBA champion Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Final in 2023.
