Blake Shelton helped a loyal fan celebrate a special day in the middle of one of his recent concerts.
In a video posted to TikTok, the “Drink on It” singer is seen chatting with fans from the stage between songs during his March 1 show at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C., when he spots someone holding up a sign that reads, “May I hug you for my 84th birthday.”
In the clip, Shelton reads the sign out loud and then provides some humorous commentary. “How are you gonna put that kind of pressure on somebody in front of all these damn people?” he jokes, as the crowd cheers. “Now that I read that out loud I gotta do it.”
Shelton requests the fan from the audience be brought around so she can join him onstage and then breaks into his 2010 chart-topping country hit “All About Tonight” with his band.
In mid-song, the birthday gal appears on stage, dancing. Shelton then sheds his acoustic guitar in preparation of the big birthday hug. Then the singer not only hugs his senior citizen fan, but serenades her, singing the song face-to-face with his arm wrapped around her shoulder and then gives her another full embrace in the middle of the song, before the happy birthday girl leaves the stage.
Blake continues his Friends & Heroes tour, featuring Craig Morgan, Deana Carter and Trace Adkins, March 7 in Boston at the TD Garden. The trek, with special guest Emily Ann Roberts, wraps on March 22 at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Penn.
In other news, Shelton recently announced he’s returning to TV after leaving The Voice, producing a new show hosted by Keith Urban called The Road. It will be filmed in Texas, Oklahoma and Tennessee this spring, and is slated to premiere on CBS in fall 2025.
