Before his untimely passing, Rich Homie Quan (born Dequantes Devontay Lamar) appeared on My Expert Opinion for a powerful discussion about his struggles with addiction. Joined by a panel featuring Math Hoffa, Smoke DZA, and Mr. Mecc, Quan candidly shared his experience with addiction, offering a raw glimpse into his personal struggles.
On the morning of September 5, 2024, Rich Homie Quan’s girlfriend called 911, reporting that he had been unresponsive on the couch since she returned from dropping her son off at school. She mentioned that she couldn’t detect a heartbeat or breathing, and upon turning him over, noticed foam around his mouth. Rich Homie Quan was later pronounced dead at an Atlanta hospital at the age of 34. An autopsy was conducted on September 6, 2024.
With his struggles with addiction being well-documented, there was early speculation on social media that Rich Homie Quan had overdosed. At this point, the cause of death has yet to be officially released.
Rich Homie Quan was a father of four and is remembered for his influential music career, which started in the early 2010s in the Atlanta rap scene.
