A disturbing late-night brawl on a Sydney train has sparked outrage after a passenger was allegedly attacked by a group of teenagers simply for asking them to turn down their music.
The incident unfolded around 11:55 p.m. Saturday as the group reportedly drank alcohol and blasted music while travelling between Redfern and Strathfield stations.
According to the victim, he could hear the speaker through his headphones and politely asked the teens to lower the volume.
Instead, one member of the group allegedly rushed toward him, triggering a violent confrontation.
Terrifying Footage Shows Passenger Outnumbered
Video recorded by another passenger captured the chaotic scenes on the upper level of the carriage.
The footage appears to show the man putting one teenager in a headlock before several others surrounded him, raining punches down on him.
As the struggle moved down the stairs, the passenger was dragged and repeatedly struck from behind.
A woman could be heard desperately urging people to call police and activate the train’s emergency alarm.
Social Media Outrage Turns Toward Silent Witnesses
While many condemned the teenagers’ behavior, others expressed disbelief that fellow passengers appeared to do little to intervene.
“The way nobody does anything makes me sick,” one person wrote online.
Another commented sarcastically: “Nice to see all the grown men helping.”

Victim Says He Didn’t Realize How Many Teens Were Together
The passenger later shared his side of the story on social media.
He said the apparent leader of the group repeatedly charged at him and admitted he hadn’t realized how many teenagers were together before confronting them.
“They got me down eventually and kicked the s*** out of me,” he wrote.
“I should have just changed carriages.”
The group reportedly fled when the train reached Strathfield Station before police arrived.
Police Appeal for Information
NSW Police confirmed they are investigating after becoming aware of the footage.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Parramatta Police Transport Command or Crime Stoppers.
