A murder investigation is underway after a 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in Battersea, south-west London, during the early hours of Saturday.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to reports of a possible altercation on Glycena Road at around 4:20 a.m.

Paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, the teenager was pronounced dead.

His family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.

Major Crime Scene Remains in Place

A large police cordon remained in place throughout Saturday, with surrounding roads closed as forensic teams continued their work.

No arrests have been made, and detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have launched an intensive investigation.

Authorities say officers will maintain a visible presence in the area amid concerns from local residents.

Investigators are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a group of males running through Lavender Hill between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie said officers are focusing on Glycena Road, Acanthus Road and Pountney Road as key areas in the investigation.

Police believe even seemingly minor details could prove vital.

CCTV and Doorbell Footage Could Hold Answers

Detectives are urging anyone with CCTV, doorbell footage or mobile phone recordings from the area to come forward.

DCI Howie said people should not assume others have already shared information, stressing that every piece of evidence could help identify those responsible.
