What began as another dramatic stint in the jungle has ended with life-changing consequences for Janice Dickinson. The former supermodel, once one of the most recognisable faces in fashion, has been left permanently disfigured following a terrifying night-time fall during filming for I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, it has been revealed. New pictures, seen for the first time, show the full extent of Janice’s injuries — damage doctors say cannot be repaired through surgery or any other medical treatment.
Janice, now 70, was injured during the 2022 all-stars spin-off of the ITV reality show after tripping in darkness when a safety night-light failed. She is now suing ITV Studios in the High Court, claiming the production company failed in its duty of care. Her legal complaint was first lodged in September last year. The American star, who fronted global campaigns for Dior and also worked with Chanel and Gianni Versace, suffered injuries to her head, lips, cheeks and wrists in the fall.

A source close to the case told The Sun that doctors have concluded she has “permanent traumatic scarring across multiple areas of her face, including the lips and mouth area, both cheeks, the chin and lower face”.
They added: “Her face has been permanently altered and the scars and indentations cannot be corrected.”
According to the source, the nerve damage makes “eating, drinking and speaking uncomfortable and unpredictable”.
They added: “It’s a devastating blow to Janice whose career relies on her showing up and serving on camera.”
The former model has previously spoken candidly about the incident, describing the fall as the most frightening experience of her life.
In an interview last September, Janice told The Sun: “It was the most frightening night of my life. Those motherf****s left me there bleeding in the dark for ten minutes.
“The guy whose job it was to watch us was negligent. ITV had a duty of care and they let me down.”
Janice explained she had told producers via her microphone that she needed to use the toilet during the night, before attempting to make her way in the dark.

She said: “I walked three steps and I tripped over a bench, flying flat on my face. My nose and lip were bloody, my chin gashed open, my head came up like a golf ball. No one from the programme came to help.
“I was screaming in the dark for ten minutes before the lights came on — and it was the other campers who helped me.”
ITV Studios has firmly denied any wrongdoing and insists Janice was supported following the incident. In a statement, the broadcaster said: “Janice Dickinson’s letter of claim has been received and reviewed.
“IAC operates a high level of safety protocols and the health, safety and welfare of all of our contributors are our number one priority.
“We don’t recognise this version of events. However, we looked after Janice at the time, paid her medical expenses, flew her home to LA, and the I’m A Celebrity team were in regular contact with Janice and her representatives on an ongoing basis after she returned home to America until after the programme aired seven months later.”
