Prince George greenlit for next phase in royal duties after King’s decision

Prince William and Princess Kate have been assigned an important new task after King Charles made a landmark change to the royal family in the past weeks.

The Prince and Princess of Wales had already been undergoing a major transition as they moved into their ‘forever home’ Forest Lodge, they are now also setting up for the next phase of their royal role – launching their eldest into royal duties.

Prince George ‘most certainly aware of his future’ as royal duties begin to ramp up

The 12-year-old Prince George, who is now under much stricter royal protocol as the second in line of succession, made his debut at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall last week.

George seemed to be filling in for his father Prince William, who had only returned from Brazil hours before the event. Royal Editor Richard Eden suggested that the young prince’s appearance was a major indicator that he is being soft-launched into his role as the Palace runs short on royal members.

He described how Princess Catherine was “, gently leading the way and really showing how Prince George could handle public engagements in the future”.

He wrote in the DailyMail that since King Charles has banished his shamed brother Andrew from royal life and Prince Harry and Meghan continue to reside in Montecito, it is only fair that George learns the ropes soon. Moreover, William himself was just 12 when he began his royal duties.

Kate and William both have been getting their son used to of the workings of royal events. Eden said, “There’s increasingly space for a new member of the Royal Family to come forward. What we are seeing now is a new royal in training, Prince George.”

Eden noted that this was not the first appearance of George at a sombre event like this. He reminded that the young royal was at Buckingham Palace just months prior, meeting with veterans during a reception to mark the 70th anniversary of VE Day.

While Prince George is very young, the expert remarked that he managed to pull off the engagement effortlessly. He was having conversations and seemed to take a “real interest” as he spoke to the veterans.

It seems that Geroge is perhaps ready to step up and eventually fill in the void left by the exit of royal members.
