The 21-year-old is currently studying at the University of St Andrews
Lady Louise Windsor attended the Christmas Day church service at Sandringham today, joining the Royal Family for the traditional walk to St Mary Magdalene Church.
Her younger brother, James, Earl of Wessex, was also present, just over a week after his 18th birthday.
Similar to his sister, James has made the decision not to become a prince, despite being qualified for the title as a grandchild of a late monarch through the male line.
Their parents, Prince Edward and Sophie, chose for them to be raised as children of an Earl.
This allowed them a more normal life and the option to use their HRH titles later if they wished, which Louise and James have both declined.
Their decision indicates a family preference for privacy over formal titles.
They were entitled to titles under Letters Patent, but their parents agreed with the late Queen Elizabeth II to style them as children of a peer (an Earl).
Therefore, Louise goes by “Lady Louise” and James as “Viscount Severn” (now Earl of Wessex).

Louise, 21, and James, 18, have attended the Sandringham Christmas service on several occasions.
Their attendance continues a pattern of appearances at significant moments in the royal calendar, including national commemorations and milestone events.
Lady Louise is currently studying at St Andrews University, and her public appearances are typically limited to family occasions rather than formal engagements.

Christmas at Sandringham is one of the few settings in which she is seen publicly, alongside senior members of the Royal Family.
Her appearance alongside her parents reflects the family-focused nature of the Sandringham gathering, which blends private celebration with a brief public-facing tradition.
After attending the service, the family returned to Sandringham House to continue Christmas Day away from public view.

Louise and James were joined by their parents, Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.
The Edinburghs are widely touted as the Royal Family’s “secret weapon” due to their heavy work ethic and loyalty to King Charles.
After the Christmas holidays, James will be returning to school to finish his final year of A-levels.
