Andrew and Sarah to live separately after Royal Lodge move?

According to reports, Prince Andrew and Sarah could end up going their separate ways once if they leave Royal Lodge.

Despite divorcing in 1996, the former royal couple have lived together at the 30-room Grade II listed home since 2008.

According to reports, Prince Andrew has demanded that he be allowed to move to Frogmore Cottage, also located in Windsor. Meanwhile, Fergie has reportedly said that she wants to move into Adelaide Cottage.

“Andy is willing to leave, but these are his demands,” a source reportedly told The Sun recently. “He is realistic and knows the writing is on the wall and that his time at Royal Lodge is up. If he must go, then he has asked for Frogmore Cottage. Incredibly, Sarah has said she wants Adelaide Cottage.”

Adelaide Cottage in Windsor is the current home of Prince William and his family. However, the Waleses are set to move to the nearby Grade II-listed Forest Lodge soon, leaving the four-bedroom home vacant by the end of the year.

‘The idea is both impractical and nonsensical’

Now, speaking exclusively to Royal Insider, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has discussed the reports.

“If these reports are true, the idea is both impractical and nonsensical,” he said.

Obviously both of them are under tremendous pressure.

“It is illuminating that the couple whom Sarah Ferguson claimed were ‘the happiest divorced couple in the world’ are, apparently, proposing to split even if they still live nearby in an arrangement which takes no account of the bizarre optics of this proposal,” he continued.

“The Crown Estate manages both properties and acts on behalf of the taxpayer, who owes Sarah Ferguson nothing. This could be a desperate ploy to try to keep her ‘rehabilitation’ on track when she is clearly in disgrace,” he then said.

Fergie and Andrew’s ‘nonsensical’ plans slammed

Mr Fitzwilliams continued. “Obviously both of them are under tremendous pressure and the fact that this preposterous idea has been leaked, indicates they may partly be living in a fantasy world,” he said.

“It does indicate that, finally, Andrew accepts he has to leave Royal Lodge despite the watertight lease. Until this issue is solved, much invaluable royal work will be overshadowed as it has become worldwide news,” he added.

William and Kate ‘give Andrew and Fergie a deadline’

It’s also been reported that Prince William and Kate have issued Andrew and Sarah with a deadline to move out of the Royal Lodge.

“Catherine shudders at the thought of living so close to Royal Lodge while Prince Andrew is still in it,” a source reportedly told the Daily Mail.

“William wants him gone before they start to move in next week. It’s not about what Andrew doesn’t want to do anymore. It’s about what he’s going to be told to do,” they continued.

Apparently, William and Kate had previously hoped to move into Royal Lodge. However, when Andrew allegedly refused to budge, they relocated to Adelaide Cottage.

“Them going into Adelaide Cottage was never the plan,” the source continued. “But they were forced to because Prince Andrew wouldn’t shift.”
