The Tindalls tied the knot in 2011 and share three children
Mike Tindall has named his wife Zara as the most competitive member of the Royal Family, surpassing even the Princess of Wales.
The former rugby player shared his verdict in an interview with Woman & Home.
Mr Tindall acknowledged that sporting rivalry runs throughout the family but was unequivocal about who takes the crown for competitiveness.
“Zara is competitive in everything!” he declared.

The journalist who conducted the interview, Emily Andrews, claimed that Mr Tindall answered “without any hesitation” when asked who was most competitive among the royals.
The retired sportsman attributed this fierce competitive streak to the mindset required for individual sports, explaining that solo athletes tend to be more driven than those in team environments.
As an Olympic Silver Medal winner in equestrian, Mrs Tindall has built her career around competition, making her drive to win entirely understandable.
Mr Tindall also praised his wife of nearly 15 years for her talents beyond sport, describing her as an “amazing cook” who outperforms him completely in the kitchen.

He added that she is “better on the barbecue” too, suggesting Mrs Tindall’s determination to excel extends well beyond athletic pursuits.
The interview also shed light on the drinking games enjoyed by the Tindalls and the Princess of Wales, with Mike clarifying a detail from a previous revelation.
When Catherine appeared alongside Prince William and Princess Anne on Mr Tindall’s The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast in 2023, her fondness for beer pong emerged.
However, Mr Tindall later corrected the record, revealing the game is actually played with prosecco rather than beer.

“I knew that the Princess of Wales was uber competitive because I’d seen her play a drinking game called beer pong, but normally we play prosecco pong! She still plays it with us,” he said.
The competitive nature within the royal circle extends to William and Catherine’s own relationship, with the princess previously admitting on Mr Tindall’s podcast that their tennis matches rarely conclude.
Instead of completing games, their court sessions apparently transform into a “mental challenge” between the couple.
Yet Prince William may not share quite the same competitive fire as his wife’s family, according to Catherine’s brother James Middleton.
In his book Meet Ella, Mr Middleton claimed that William uses any excuse to avoid the family’s intense card game sessions, writing that the prince “is happy to be a loser at cards” rather than face their fierce rivalry at racing demon.
