The mysterious death of a South Carolina fitness instructor has left her husband devastated as video footage has revealed her concerning behavior in the hours leading up to her death.
Elena Katherine Moore, 39, disappeared after she checked in at the Planet Fitness in Lexington on June 12.
Surveillance footage from the gym showed Moore talking to the front desk staff and wearing an olive green zip–up hoodie with black athletic pants.
After, Moore was observed walking toward the wooded area behind the nearby Lowe’s Home Improvement Store at 9.17pm.
That was the last time she was seen, according to police. She was reported missing by her husband, Brannon Slice, 47, the following day.
Numerous users online have suggested that Slice may have been involved in Moore’s death. Officials have not listed the husband, who is a private investigator and a former deputy, as a suspect.
Nearly one week after her disappearance, police uncovered a body near Old Cherokee Road and Northlake Drive wearing the same clothes as Moore when she vanished.
On June 4, one week before she went missing, Moore was caught by a doorbell camera about half a mile from the gym, appearing confused as she tried to enter a stranger’s home.

The footage, first obtained by NewsNation, showed a DoorDash driver delivering food at the door before Moore, wearing black clothes and oversized sunglasses, who picked up the order and handed it to the couple living there.
Moore can be seen briefly interacting with a DoorDash driver, before appearing to have been muttering to herself before the door was opened and the order is collected.
Moore briefly seemed to try to walk into the home before the door was shut in her face, leaving her outside in the hallway.
Resident John Moore, of no relation, said the missing woman ‘seemed really confused and disoriented about where she was or whatever she was doing.’
Sarah Burleson, John Moore’s wife, told NewsNation that she later saw the missing woman going through a neighbor’s packages.
Moore allegedly told Burleson that she did not know what she was doing.
Henry Dukes, a private investigator, spoke with reporter Brian Entin and explained how ‘devastating’ the situation has been for the husband to deal with those allegations.
‘We have a family,’ said Dukes. ‘They have a husband that’s grieving for a loss of a young lady.’
‘We don’t want to lose focus of that. But we also have to pump the brakes and let law enforcement do their job.’
The private investigator added that making accusations without evidence does not help the family.
‘The family and Brannon are surrounded by a bunch of people that love both of them, thought the world of both of them, and is now allowing him to have some people to lean on to try to get him through every minute, every hour, every day of this tragic situation,’ Dukes added.

However, Sondra Campbell, who was close friends with Moore, told Fox News Digital that Moore tried to leave the relationship in the past in a recent interview.
Campbell said she noticed something was ‘very different’ the last time she saw her on May 31.
‘She was scared for her life. She actually said those words to me,’ Campbell said. ‘Elena is one of my best friends. I’ve known her over probably 10 years now. We’re really close like tell each other everything. She’s been that person for me for a long time.’
‘Elena was such a good person and I think we’re just all just trying to wrap our head around this, but my friend would not be alone walking at nighttime. She just wouldn’t be, it’s not her,’ Campbell added.
On Wednesday, Lexington police said they had received a report claiming that Moore had been spotted walking toward the woods near Lakeside Middle School, roughly more than one mile from where she was last seen.
It is not known what Moore may have been doing in that wooded area where the still unidentified body was found.
Another of Moore’s friends, Justin Robertson, previously told the Daily Mail that she is a beloved member of their community.
‘Elena is well loved amongst our community, she loves the outdoors, the lake, and has a passion for life,’ Robertson said.
‘She stands firm in her beliefs whether it’s the popular thing or not,’ he added.
According to the Coroner’s Office, an autopsy was scheduled for Saturday. More details on the cause and manner of the trainer’s death are expected to be released on June 22.
