Queen Elizabeth II was a monarch who was a stickler for royal protocol, and this included her approach to sharing her political views. As monarch, the late Queen never made her political views known and, in public, remained politically neutral.

As reported by The Times, an unnamed senior minister said they had spoken to the late Queen in 2016.

During this chat, the then-monarch reportedly shared her views on Brexit.

They claimed she said, “We shouldn’t leave the EU.”

It is believed she also said: “It’s better to stick with the devil you know.”

This suggests that if she were allowed to vote, she would have voted to remain.

It is not known who she is believed to have made such comments to; however, her political views are not something she would have ever expressed publicly.

This is the same for all members of the Royal Family, who are expected to stay out of politics as much as possible.
