The Princess of Wales has taken up a new hobby, according to one of her teachers, and it’s one that the Duchess of Sussex also loves. Princess Kate, who is also keen on photography, has reportedly started practising meditation recently under the guidance of renowned artist Chris Levine.

Mr Levin, who created one of the most iconic photographs of the late Queen Elizabeth, recently spoke to the Daily Mail and revealed Kate’s new pursuit. But he stopped himself from further disclosing more details, telling the outlet: “I think I’ve said too much!”

Mr Levine was commissioned to photograph Elizabeth in 2004 for Jersey’s commemoration of eight centuries of Crown allegiance.

Out of the more than 8,000 images that he took of the late Queen, she chose one, Equanimity, after he made it into a portrait and featured it on Time magazine’s cover.

However, there was also another picture in the batch showing the Queen in a serene state with her eyes closed.

The artist named it Lightness of Being, and it became one of the most iconic royal portraits. It was that shot of Elizabeth that inspired him to take up meditation and subsequently initiated Kate into it.

Kate’s not the only royal who has taken an interest in mediation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also mediation fans. In 2015, Meghan wrote in her now-defunct blog, The Tig:”Last week marked the one-year anniversary of my relationship with meditation, something I found endlessly daunting at first (the thoughts, the distractions, the boredom of it), but soon became the quietude that rocked my world. I can’t put my finger on the why or the how, but I will tell you this much, for me…I am just happier. And meditation has much to do with that.
Back in 2015, when her lifestyle blog The Tig was still active, she shared a post that read: “Last week marked the one year anniversary of my relationship with meditation, something I found endlessly daunting at first (the thoughts, the distractions, the boredom of it), but soon became the quietude that rocked my world. I can’t put my finger on the why or the how, but I will tell you this much, for me…I am just happier. And meditation has much to do with that.”
