Aussie singer Keith Urban breaks silence on split from Nicole Kidman with three-word response
The country music star has not been seen with his daughters in a long time.
Keith Urban has finally broken his silence on his high-profile split from actress Nicole Kidman, offering a three word response to reports he’s become estranged from his children in the fallout.
The Aussie pair split in late September 2025 after 19 years of marriage, and officially divorced in January this year after Kidman cited “irreconcilable differences”.
But despite parting ways with his long-term partner and his seemingly sparse catch ups with their two kids, Urban, 58, has remained tight-lipped on the family dynamic.
In response to New Idea’s queries about his relationship with his kids, Urban said: “Family is private.”
There are conflicting reports of Urban’s last public sighting with Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, ranging anywhere from several months, all the way back to the Paris Olympics in July 2024.
As per the former couple’s custody arrangement, Kidman is entitled to 306 days a year with their children, while Urban is allotted the remaining 59.

It’s unclear how closely the family keeps to that arrangement.
The lack of public sightings between the father and his kids only fuels estrangement rumours, in addition to Sunday’s apparent decision not to speak fondly of the singer when given a public platform.
In a March 2026 interview with ELLE Australia, the teen could not have been more effusive of her mother’s influence while failing to mention her father.
“My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life. She’s a key part of everything I do,” Sunday said.

As a budding model and actress, she revealed a piece of pocket wisdom Kidman had passed down to her.
“The biggest piece of industry advice mum has given to me is to always be on time,” she added.
“There’s always going to be something with an early call time that you don’t want to get up for, but it’s really important to be on time because it shows that you’re prepared and grateful to be there.”

A source told New Idea that Urban is “numb” over Sunday’s subtle roast.
Further to this, Sunday does not follow her father on Instagram, but does continue to follow her mother. Faith does not appear to maintain a public social media profile.
Meanwhile, Kidman and their two kids have been seen publicly since the split, including at Paris Fashion Week in October, and the 2025 Fashion Awards in London in December.
