Silvagni, 23, was sentenced in the Victorian County Court on Wednesday to a maximum six years and two months, with a non-parole period of three years and three months, after he was found guilty of two counts of rape.

It followed an assault on January 14, 2024 in a bedroom at the  family home owned by his famous parents – AFL legend Stephen Silvagni and TV identity Jo Silvagni (nee Bailey).

Now it can be revealed former Carlton Blues president Mark LoGiudice is the father of the second man who was at the home on that night.

During the trial, it was confirmed detectives attended LoGiudice’s home on two occasions to interview his son Anthony, who was in a relationship with the rape victim.

Anthony had left the Silvagni home shortly before the assault occurred, but Tom Silvagni claimed it was Anthony who was in bed with the victim, not him.

The victim maintained it was Silvagni, and the jury agreed.

The fallout from the case has destroyed what was once a close friendship between the two young men, and deepened the divide between their respective fathers.

It was Mark LoGiudice who lured Stephen Silvagni back to work at Carlton as recruiting manger, after he had left the club in acrimonious circumstances following his great playing career.

An investigation into salary cap breaches during the 1990s saw the club receive severe punishments, and there was considerable ill-feeling between former teammates and officials over who co-operated with the AFL investigation and who did not.

Silvagni stayed away from the club for years until he was tempted back by then Blues president LoGuidice in 2014.

However a further split developed over Silvagni recruiting his owns sons Jack and Ben to the club, and the former club legend was ousted, triggering the end of his once friendly relationship with LoGuidice, who took the side of the club CEO.

Despite that, their boys Tom and Anthony remained close friends, having attended prestigious Xavier College together, and Anthony was reportedly a frequent guest at the Silvagni home.

One source told News Corp that ‘there was already some bad blood from their days at Carlton, but this has changed lives forever.’

Stephen Silvagni is now recruiting manger at St Kilda, which has now lured Jack Silvagni away from the Blues with a rich playing contract.

On the night of the assault, Anthony LoGiudice and the victim had consensual sex after 12.30am on January 14 before he said he was heading home while his girlfriend slept upstairs.

He ordered an Uber at 1.57am, which dropped him home at 2.09am.

In a bid to place LoGiudice at the scene for longer – to fit his story that it was Anthony who was in bed with the victim – Tom Silvagni admitted to doctoring the Uber receipt to change the departure time from 1.58am to 2.37am and the arrival time from 2.09am to 2.57am.

The jury later unanimously agreed Silvagni raped the victim.
