Michael Jackson’s rarely seen son Prince was all smiles as he attended the opening night of MJ: The Musical at the Lyric Theatre in Sydney, Australia on Saturday, March 8
Michael Jackson’s son, Prince, made a rare public appearance to celebrate his late father’s legacy over the weekend. The 28 year old attended the opening night of MJ: The Musical at the Lyric Theatre in Sydney, Australia on Saturday, March 8.
Prince is the oldest of the late King of Pop’s three children, the other two being daughter Paris Jackson, 26, and youngest son Bigi Jackson, 23. While Bigi is the most low-profile of the siblings, Prince tends to keep out of the public eye as well, however he attended the event to celebrate his late dad.
Attending the event alone Prince was dressed in a navy blue pinstriped suit, white collared shirt and purple tie, and was all smiles as he posed for photos.
The musical is based on his father’s life and chronicles Michael’s creative journey and preparations for the 1992 Dangerous World Tour. Michael Jackson tragically passed away on June 25, 2009 from cardiac arrest induced by a lethal mix of drugs administered by his personal physician, Conrad Murray.

Michael’s eldest son has previously expressed his aspirations to become a producer, director, screenwriter and actor. On June 1, 2024, Prince announced via Instagram a new event honouring his late father, titled “This is Thriller.”, reports the Mirror US.
The special event will take place at the Palace Theatre in Los Angeles every five years to celebrate the iconic song by the late singer. The post read: “The future plans for Thriller Night will be taking place every 5 years. The next Thriller Night will be in 2027 to celebrate Thriller’s 45th Anniversary.”
Prince has always sought to honour his legendary father’s memory with great fondness. On the 15th anniversary of his dad’s passing, he took to Instagram Stories to share a heartfelt tribute, posting a snapshot of the iconic musician rocking out during the Super Bowl XXVII halftime show in 1993.
Alongside the photo, Prince shared a touching caption: “Miss you pops. The world felt better with you in it.”
