The Top 5 ‘Idol’ hopefuls continue with a second night of songs from the Disney songbook as America votes live for the three heading to the finale.
“Disney Night” continued for a second night on American Idol with the Top 5 traveling to Disneyland Resort and then taking the stage – this time to perform hero and villain songs from the Disney songbook. Then American voted for the Top 3, who will perform in next week’s finale.
Again, each member of the final five performed two songs, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, who was nominated for two original song Oscars for Disney movies: “Dos Oruguitas” from Encanto and “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana and who mentored them last night, made a special appearance mentoring them again.
American Idol Season 23 winner Ian Tongi returned to make the television debut of “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” from the upcoming Lilo & Stitch movie.
While judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan no longer have a say in who progresses in the singing competition, they are on hand to critique the singers and help guide America in deciding who is worthy of going through.
