“Disney Night” continued for a second night on American Idol with the Top 5 traveling to Disneyland Resort and then taking the stage – this time to perform hero and villain songs from the Disney songbook. Then American voted for the Top 3, who will perform in next week’s finale.

Again, each member of the final five performed two songs, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, who was nominated for two original song Oscars for Disney movies: “Dos Oruguitas” from Encanto and “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana and who mentored them last night, made a special appearance mentoring them again.

American Idol Season 23 winner Ian Tongi returned to make the television debut of “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” from the upcoming Lilo & Stitch movie.

While judges Carrie UnderwoodLionel Richie and Luke Bryan no longer have a say in who progresses in the singing competition, they are on hand to critique the singers and help guide America in deciding who is worthy of going through.

Luke said: “What a fan base. You got them right where you want them. You got the fans and you got us. You got a thing, you got a look, a sound that’s getting better and better each week.”

THUNDERSTORM ARTIS

BREANNA NIX

Song: “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” from The Parent Trap

Carrie said: “I feel like the second half, you were, ‘everything’s going to be okay.’ The first half you were a little unsure. People at home don’t know how much is going on. You’re preparing for the finale and family is here. For your next performance, just have fun.”

JAMAL ROBERTS

Song: “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” from Remember the Titans

Luke said: “What a special moment with your family at Disney. You were emotional before you started singing then I saw you doing ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,’ and I got more emotional. I watched your original audition this morning and to watch you today, you deserve this.”

SLATER NALLEY

Song: “Born to Be Wild” from D3: The Mighty Ducks

Lionel said: “There you go again. I can’t even get control of the crowd. There you go again making a mess of all of this, the crowd is out of control; you’re out of control. That’s what I’m talking about.”

THUNDERSTORM ARTIS

Song: “Find Yourself” from Cars

Carrie said: “Please forgive me, I couldn’t give you a standing O, but my hair gets caught. Again, you just have the ability to connect with people. You are all heart. You are all sunshine and positivity and all that is good in the world when you sing. We felt it.”
