King Charles’s hilarious 8-word response after bird poos on his jacket during seaside trip
King Charles didn’t let the mishap ruin his second day in Northern Ireland.

King Charles fell foul of a passing seagull this afternoon, after it defecated on his jacket during a visit to a seaside town. Charles took the splattering in good humour, despite it leaving a noticeable white smear on the back of his suit jacket.
The 77-year-old monarch was leaving a food bank project in Newcastle, County Down, in Northern Ireland, and was about to embark on a walkabout when the bird mess fell from the sky, hitting Charles and those standing nearby. But the King appeared amused by the unfortunate incident and refused the offer of putting on his overcoat after a royal aide discreetly pointed out the mess.
Smiling, he waved the offer off and walked on over to greet the cheering crowds, who had been waiting for several hours

When one member of the public politely asked him whether he knew he had a bird dropping on his jacket, the King laughed and said: “No, it’s fine. At least it didn’t land on my head!”
Charles carried on as normal, spending just under 10 minutes chatting and shaking hands with well-wishers who lined crash barriers along the main street.
The King was visiting the seaside town at the foot of Slieve Donard, the highest peak in Northern Ireland, to highlight crucial local community projects.
Arriving shortly after 11am on Wednesday, he toured the Newcastle Community Cinema, founded in 2008 by a group of local film enthusiasts, which now sits at the heart of community life.
As he arrived at the Box Office, he was given a special ‘VIP’ ticket by Vera Edelstein, who was manning the booth, before entering the screening box to help start the playing of a short trailer for a recent film, A Quiet Love, about a real-life deaf couple and their lives through the Troubles.

Deaf actor Agnes Carberry, who stars in the film with her husband, John, embraced the King after he told them, “You were very courageous.”
Afterwards, he headed to nearby Donard Methodist Church, where he met volunteers from The Pantry Food Bank.
The King made the staff laugh by exploring the contents of the parcels, and at one point stuck his head in a paper bag to smell some wheaten bread. He seized on a toilet roll and declared: “Very important.”
The group provides food for around 52 families a month, and fear demand is growing with rising heating oil prices this winter.
Charles was then invited to help pack a box for a single person this week. He carefully placed in bread, fresh fruit and vegetables, a toothbrush and toothpaste. “Very, very important,” he quipped, placing more toilet roll inside.
He later told the volunteers: “You are all very, very special people. What you do is so important.”
After meeting community groups, including the local RNLI and Mountain Rescue, he embarked on a walkabout, people shouting his name and saying ‘God Save The King’.
Irene Marting, 64, from the village of Dromara near Lisburn, was waiting in the crowds with her sister Paula Leitch to see the King and witnessed the incident unfold from across the street.
After sharing a joke with Charles about the moment she said: “We were talking to the King about the seagull and he said, ‘It’s well it didn’t land on my head’.
“Somebody was trying to get him to put a coat on but he didn’t, being hit by a seagull, it’s supposed to be good luck. We’re so thrilled he’s come to Northern Ireland to see us and it’s really nice to see him in Newcastle.”
