A Prince Louis remark sparked a hilarious moment from Princess Kate during the French State Visit.
Kate made a playful reference to her youngest son at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.
Whilst touring an exhibit of French-related items from the Royal Collection, Kate viewed a portrait of King Louis XIV in the Green Drawing Room.
Upon seeing the image of the French monarch who ruled from 1643 to 1715, the Princess quipped: “I should know,” as reported by Hello!.
The joke was an affectionate nod to seven-year-old Prince Louis, who shares his name with the historic French king.
The moment occurred as Kate toured the Green Drawing Room alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte during their UK visit, which began on July 8.
The Princess was examining a display of items relating to France from the Royal Collection when she spotted the portrait of the young French King.
Her quick-witted response drew on her personal connection to the name Louis through her youngest child. The Princess of Wales shares Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis with Prince William.

Kate’s remark showcased her characteristic warmth and humour during the formal diplomatic occasion.
The Princess brings considerable expertise to such cultural encounters, having studied art history at the University of St Andrews, where she met Prince William.
The couple married in 2011, and Kate appears to share a particularly close relationship with her youngest child.
“Everyone always comments on how Louis is the spitting image of Kate,” a friend previously told People.

“She loves it and thinks it’s very sweet; she often jokes that he’s the only one of her kids who actually looks like her!”
Prince Louis recently charmed crowds at Trooping the Colour on June 14, displaying his characteristic personality whilst joining his family for King Charles’s official birthday celebrations.
The royal children are currently enjoying their summer holidays from school, meaning William and Kate’s state visit duties kept them close to home.
The French state visit was hosted at Windsor Castle rather than Buckingham Palace, which is undergoing extensive renovations.

PAThis marked the first state visit held at Windsor in 11 years. The Prince and Princess of Wales live nearby at Adelaide Cottage, making their participation convenient.
On Tuesday evening, William and Kate’s team released a portrait of the couple in white-tie finery ahead of the state banquet.
“Ready for what promises to be a wonderful State Banquet this evening in Windsor,” their team wrote on social media.
