Love Island icon Maura Higgins was spotted on the celebrity dating app, Raya, following her split from Pete Wicks.

On Valentine’s Day, it was announced Pete and Maura’s romance had reportedly come to an end after a series of stormy rows, before they ever went public with their relationship. The pair are said to have known each other for six years but only started dating in 2024.

Recent reports suggested that their highly-publicised breakup followed allegations of infidelity on Pete’s part, though neither party has publicly commented on the claims in detail. Maura became “suspicious” of Pete after reportedly seeing messages from other women on his phone.

However, a source close to Pete defended him and said the text messages from women Maura found on his phone were “innocent”. Following their split, a profile for Maura was seen on dating app Raya where she used a picture of herself from Love Island USA: Aftersun’s final.

In the picture, as shared in The Sun, she rocked a sheer strapless dress and wowed in full glam makeup. She then made a quip about the cost of the app, which costs users from £9.99 a month, and wrote in her bio: “Who would have thought we have to pay for dates nowadays?”

A source told the publication: “Dating again isn’t something she’s interested in, she just wants to be single. Her account popped up on Raya but she’s deactivated it and said she’s not used it in a year.”

The Mirror have reached out to Maura’s reps for comment. Maura appeared to fall head over heals for the Strictly Come Dancing star, 37, after they were spotted on a string of secret dates last year, with the two smooching during lunches in central London.

Maura even gushed about their connection while in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle as they appeared to be stronger than ever. Pete headed to Maura’s native Ireland over Christmas and the couple enjoyed multiple romantic getaways together. However, it wasn’t meant to be as they called it quits on their love story.

“She knew she’d never be able to feel like she could trust him — even if the messages were all innocent, it’s not something she could get past. She didn’t want to be constantly worried about what her man was doing,” a source close to Maura told the publication. They explained Maura had “remained coy” and is determined to move on from Pete without bad-mouthing him.

Despite her fresh heartbreak, she was spotted stepping out with friends, enjoying the MOBO Awards and, on a recent occasion, posing on the red carpet for the F1 75 Live event at The O2 Arena.
