Last weekend, Lady Louise participated in the Sandringham Festival of Carriage Driving from June 27 through June 29.
Like her late grandfather Prince Philip, Lady Louise is an accomplished carriage driver, and she put her skills to the test on the final day of the event, held on the Sandringham estate on Sunday.
Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter shared a bond with her grandfather over carriage driving, a sport he loved for decades.
The St Andrews’ student was cheered on by Felix da Silva-Clamp, a fellow student at the University of St Andrews. Finishing third in the prestigious competition, Lady Louise was cheered on by Felix as well as her mother, the Duchess of Edinburgh, who dressed in a bold red shirt dress for the equestrian event.
The proud mother of two took photos of Lady Louise during the competition as Felix watched, and the two were spotted spending time with Louise throughout the weekend competition.
The youngster is currently studying English at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, the same university attended by William and Kate.
The late Duke of Edinburgh first introduced the sport to Sandringham in 1982, aiming to bring his passion for carriage driving to one of his favourite royal residences.
In an interview in 2020, proud mother, Sophie, said of her daughter’s carriage driving talents: “She is naturally so good at it, she really is. It’s something that she has taken to very well.”
