EXCLUSIVE: Meghan Markle won’t be returning to the UK anytime soon, a royal expert has claimed.

Meghan Markle will “unsurprisingly” be staying away from Britain and won’t join Prince Harry in London next week after the couple’s “guerrilla war” against the Royal Family, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex is set to head back home to attend the prestigious WellChild awards on September 30.

Harry, who has been the patron of WellChild – a charity which focuses on improving the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families – for more than 16 years, will present the Award for Inspirational Child (aged four to six) and deliver a speech.

He is also expected to spend time with each winner and their families at a pre-ceremony reception, listening to their stories and helping create lifelong memories.

But the Duchess of Sussex is thought to be staying in the US with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

It comes as a recent poll showed that Meghan’s popularity among young people in Britain skyrocketed in just under four months.

YouGov’s latest survey revealed that the Duchess of Sussex saw her popularity among Gen Zers (18-24 year-olds) soar by 22 points just as she and Prince Harry toured Colombia last month.

Now a royal expert has claimed that despite her recent popularity boost among Britain’s youth, there is a reason why the Duchess will likely be staying in the US.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “The Sussexes are partly responsible for the disillusion many young people feel with the monarchy.

“In contrast, Meghan’s popularity has recently soared with the 18-24 age group.

“However her ratings overall are terrible (YouGov minus 40 overall) and the press, who greeted her marriage to Harry with adulation, are ferociously hostile as the Sussexes have so clearly monetised their royal connections and conducted a guerrilla war against the royal family.

“It is unsurprising that she is staying away.”

The poll, conducted between August 14 and August 15 and published on August 30, showed that Meghan was liked by nearly half (48 percent) of young people in Britain and disliked by only three out of ten (30 percent), with a net approval rating of plus 18.

However, she remained overwhelmingly disliked by the rest of the age groups (25-49, 50-64, 65+) thus her overall favourability rating was minus 40. This marks an improvement from four months ago when it plunged to minus 43.

The Sussexes saw their popularity take a plunge after their sensational exit from the Royal Family and move to the US in 2020.

Since then, they’ve released a series of explosive claims about the royals, none of which have been commented on by the Firm.
