Hoard, 23, was declared missing after failing to board a plane leaving the United States from O’Hare Airport, Chicago, on February 27.

He is the brother of former Portland Trail Blazers and Oklahoma City Thunder star Jaylen Hoard.

In good news for all involved, he has been found safe and sound in Chicago, much to the relief of Wembanyama.

Chicago police issued a statement around 7pm ET on Tuesday announcing he had been found.

However, they did not share much beyond that, with no detail on how or where he was found.

The San Antonio Spurs star shared the news and his relief with the media after their 91-131 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday evening.

He said, “We’ve been close for a long time, his family and mine.

“We always think it happens to others, that was the first time I saw this case for a close person. I’m very relieved.”

He later took the chance to thank the power of social media and the people on it, posting on X, “You all played a part in this.”

Hoard was due to return to France after a 10-day trip to the Windy City to see his father.

However, he never checked in for his flight home after his father dropped him off at the airport.

His father, named Antwon, had initially said, “Everything seemed pretty normal the first eight days.

“But the last two days his whole mood had swung, and he was really adamant about not going back home, and he didn’t want to go home.”

He had also shared with news outlet ABC7 that his son struggles with mental illness.
