Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter Lilibet is set to inherit some of Meghan Markle and Princess Diana’s most prized possessions, according to an expert.

Princess Lilibet is expected to inherit a dazzling selection of precious jewels, including a Cartier piece, according to an expert. The youngest child of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrates her fourth birthday today.

Following Princess Diana’s passing in 1997, her jewellery collection was divided between her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. In her “letter of wishes,” Diana expressed that her jewels should be passed to her sons so that their wives might, in due course, have or use them, with Harry, 40, already reportedly gifting several items to Meghan, 43. In October 2010, Prince William proposed to Princess Kate with Diana’s iconic sapphire and diamond engagement ring at the foothills of Mount Kenya. Meanwhile, Prince Harry designed Meghan’s royal engagement ring using two small diamonds from Diana’s personal collection, set alongside a central stone from Botswana.

Reports suggest that Harry has since gifted Meghan several pieces from his mother’s collection, including Diana’s aquamarine ring, butterfly earrings, and gold bracelet.

It is believed that Princess Lilibet will one day be gifted these dazzling items from Meghan when she is older.

According to jewellery experts at Steven Stone, the total value of the pieces Lilibet could inherit amounts to a staggering £410,000. At the top of the list is Meghan’s £150,000 Cartier bracelet, which she famously wore on her wedding day to Prince Harry

The bangle is made up of 104 brilliant-cut and 52 baguette diamonds.

Leading Diamond Expert, Maxwell Stone commented: “Worth £150,000, Meghan’s stunning bracelet is composed of 18K white gold, set with 104 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 4.50 carats, and 52 baguette-cut diamonds totalling 5.61 carats.

“Worn by Meghan on her wedding day, this would be a heart-warming piece for Lilibet to inherit that she could possibly pair with her own wedding dress in the future.”

Princess Diana’s Asprey aquamarine ring was one of her most iconic and beloved jewellery pieces. The striking ring features a large, emerald-cut aquamarine stone set on a thick band of 24-carat yellow gold, flanked by small solitaire diamonds on each side.

The vivid blue of the aquamarine makes it a true statement piece — bold, elegant, and unmistakably regal. The ring has an estimated value between £75k and £75k-85k.

Diana commissioned the ring from Asprey in the 1990s after her divorce from Prince Charles, and it became known as her ‘freedom ring’.

She notably wore it at several high-profile events, including a 1997 auction of her own dresses at Christie’s in New York — one of her final public appearances before her tragic passing.

The ring has come to symbolise Diana’s independence and personal style in her post-royal life. Although, it gained fresh attention when Meghan wore it at her wedding reception in May 2018.

Diana never had the chance to meet her daughters-in-law or grandchildren.

These gifts reflect Prince Harry’s intention to keep his mother’s memory alive and to share her legacy with his wife and now his children.
