iewers who tuned into Netflix’s latest horror, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, were hooked just minutes into watching the eight-part series, which landed on the streaming platform on Thursday.
The terrifying thriller, which comes from creator Haley Z. Boston and executive producers the Duffer Brothers (Stranger Things), follows Rachel (Camila Morrone, Daisy Jones & The Six) and Nicky (Adam DiMarco, The White Lotus) as they prepare for their wedding day at the groom’s isolated family cabin. But when a string of strange events occurs, bride-to-be Rachel can’t shake the feeling that something very bad is going to happen.

It’s safe to say that viewers are loving the new horror, with many binge-watching all eight episodes in one sitting.
Taking to social media, one person wrote: “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen had me up all night binging all 8 episodes. Stylishly haunting and filled with a coldness from its beautiful location, the show had me intrigued from episode one. The dread is palpable, yet stunning to look at,” while another hailed the show as “brilliant” and called for a spin-off.

But before they arrive at their destination, a series of eerie things start happening, and paranoia-prone Rachel becomes convinced that something bad is going to happen.
The synopsis continues: “Her foreboding doubts, coupled with a series of eerie coincidences and dreadful surprises, force her to ask the question: What makes two people soulmates? And worse — what could be scarier than lifelong commitment to the wrong person?

The series, which has already scored an impressive 83 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, has been met with positive reviews from critics. The Telegraph described the horror as “gory and gleeful” in its four-star review, while The Guardian also awarded four stars, calling the show “so scary it will send you hysterical”.
