The woman accused of shooting an AR-style rifle at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills mansion pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, March 25, to several charges including attempted murder.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, entered her plea at Los Angeles Superior Court, the Los Angeles Times and FOX 11 reported.
Her public defender had previously entered a plea of not guilty on her behalf at her first court appearance on March 11, but then withdrew it in favor of postponing the arraignment, according to WESH.
The Florida resident is charged with one count of attempted murder, 10 felony counts of assault with an semiautomatic firearm and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper.
She is being held on $1.875 million bail and could face life in prison.
According to the Associated Press, her lawyer asked that her bail be reduced to $70,000 based on her ability to pay, however, the judge declined the request and kept the bail the same.
Ortiz is accused of pulling up to the estate shared by Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky and their three children while they were home on March 8 and opening fire with a semiautomatic rifle, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.
Ortiz then allegedly fled the scene but was ultimately arrested in Sherman Oaks.
No one was hurt in the ordeal, but the pop star and beauty mogul was left deeply shaken, sources previously told PEOPLE.
Ortiz’s alleged motive remains unclear. But the licensed speech pathologist had previously made cryptic posts on Facebook seemingly referencing the singer, including one from two weeks prior that read, “Say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me.”
PEOPLE reached out to the Los Angeles County Public Defender which declined to comment.
