A setting tease for Wednesday season 2 hints that one character’s story isn’t yet complete. Overall, there is still minimal information regarding the Netflix series’ upcoming installment, through a release is expected for sometime in 2025. The streaming platform did, however, share a brief teaser on X (formerly Twitter), which may have included some subtle information about Wednesday season 2. If this truly holds some weight for the coming episodes, there’s a significant chance that the titular Addams will pay another visit to a season 1 villain whose story still has a lot of room to expand.
The teaser shared by Netflix’s X account sees Jenna Ortega’s Wednesdayreading from a file detailing the gruesome state of a seemingly murdered corpse. Once she has finished describing the grip of rigor mortis and the location of the stab wounds, she closes the file and bids Thing goodnight. The iconic Addams Family hand is then shown tucked in for bed, revealing that Wednesday had been reading her pal what she considers to be a calming bedtime story. Overall, this is just a cute moment to get audiences excited for Wednesday season 2—but is there more to be gleaned?
Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital Has Been Teased For Wednesday Season 2
Wednesday Has A File From Willow Hill
The file Wednesday is reading from in the Netflix social teaserhas the words “Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital” printed on the front, which is notable sincethis is where Tyler Galpin was taken at the end of Wednesday season 1. Wednesday surely wouldn’t have been given such a file freely, so it seems likely that she would have infiltrated the psychiatric hospital to steal items useful to her own investigation (and the file just happened to work as a bedtime story for Thing). Of course, if Wednesday sneaks into this location in Wednesday season 2, it also seems likely that she might meet with Tyler again.
Wednesday Visiting Tyler May Open The Door For A Redemption
Tyler May Be Useful To Wednesday’s Investigation
Custom image by Yeider ChaconTyler and Wednesday dated in Wednesday season 1, but things quickly fell apart when it was revealed that the boy was really the Hyde behind all the attacks. Tyler seemed pretty thoroughly evil in the final moments of the Netflix series’ first installment, but some residual questions remain unanswered regarding his morality. After all, Tyler had been manipulated by Miss Thornhill, who was really Laurel Gates. Though a continued romance is out of the question in Wednesday season 2, there may be some wiggle room for Tyler to earn redemption and prove useful to Wednesday’s investigations.
Wednesday’s visit to Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital in Wednesday is a sign that her connection with Tyler isn’t over. He may prove crucial to the titular character’s next big mystery, and any begrudging cooperation could lead to a reformed friendship—especially if Tyler ultimately separates himself and his desires from Miss Thronhill’s influence. Of course, a visit with Tyler could instead confirm once and for all that this character is bad to the bone and must, therefore, remain locked up forever. Regardless, any time spent in a psychiatric hospital for supernatural beings is sure to be enlightening.
Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital Is Sure To Come With More Mysteries For Wednesday
It’s An Intriguing Setting Regardless
The ending of Wednesday season 1 teased a stalker for Wednesday, but there are various other unanswered questions from this first installment that are sure to come up in the coming episodes. Tyler’s mother, Francoise, is especially shrouded in mystery since her status as a Hyde and eventual death was barely explained. It seems to be an event that both Nevermore and the town of Jericho put a great deal of energy into covering up, so there is undoubtedly a lot more here for Wednesday to uncover. Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital may be key to her discovering precisely what happened and why.
Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital may be key to her discovering precisely what happened and why.
It’s also possible that such a setting in Wednesday season 2 would open the door for brand new mysteries that have yet to be teased within the story. The murder victim Wednesday reads about in the file died from knife wounds, and this doesn’t quite line up with any previous deaths in the series. Perhaps this is someone killed by Wednesday’s new stalker or another fatality of past crimes in Jericho that were pinned on Nevermore’s outcasts. Of course, only time will tell, but for a series like Wednesday, a psychiatric hospital setting is an intriguing and thrilling promise of creepy things to come.
