Nobody Wants This season 2 was confirmed mere weeks after its premiere, having already racked up billions of minutes viewed according to Nielsen’s streaming charts. The race to production means that Netflix is fast-tracking a second installment after the comedy became a breakout hit, and it may mean viewers will start to hear about casting details and story information a few months into 2025. It also means new episodes could debut late next year.

Nobody Wants This season 1 ends with a path that allows for Noah and Joanne’s story to continue. With some episodes being barely over 20 minutes long, the romantic comedy largely avoids the streaming problem of too much padding. It also has an episodic quality, with each installment carving out a specific setting or focus rather than just playing as one long movie.

But the show also does a smart thing. While the main draw is seeing teen drama icon Bell and Brody in a classic rom-com, and perhaps seeing Brody in a full-fledged charming lead role after he’s largely favored darker projects and cameo appearances, there is a lot of depth to the Nobody Wants This supporting cast that includes Succession‘s Justine Lupe, Veep‘s Timothy Simons, and GLOW star Jackie Tohn, among several others.
