Queen of our hearts and our favourite small screen Regency romp Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan, has given a timely update as to the fourth season of the hit series, which is currently filming.
‘It’s quite nice to take a step back and can let them [the new romantic leads] like do it all,’ Coughlan told E! News at the Time Next 100 event earlier in October in New York City. ‘We’ve been filming for about a month now. But I get to pop in and out, so I get to come to New York which I couldn’t have done last year, so it’s quite nice.’
‘It’s gonna be amazing,’ the Derry Girls star added. ‘Luke and Yerin are hard at work now. They’re having such a good time.’
As for future series of the hit show, Coughlan added: ‘I’m sure the show will go on forever, there’s lots more love stories to be told.’

The series’ fourth outing, which will focus on the story of Benedict Bridgerton and will be based on the events of Julia Quinn’s third Bridgerton novel, An Offer From a Gentleman, will feature Australian actor Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek, Benedict’s love interest. which sees second-born son Benedict (Luke Thompson) searching for a ‘lady in silver’ he meets at a masquerade ball, who turns out to be Sophie.
‘What’s striking about season four is that it’s the struggle between a proper old-school fairy tale,’ Thompson told Netflix’s Tudum. ‘The romance of it, and the actual reality of the world.’

In a statement teasing a first look at Ha and Thompson together on-set, Netflix also released a brief synopsis of the fourth season. ‘The new season will focus on the second Bridgerton son, Benedict and his quest to find the mesmerising Lady in Silver, Sophie Baek,’ the streaming service noted.
Per the official logline of the upcoming series, ‘The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict. Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.’
