The perfect date-night outfit can be more an elusive idea rather than a tangible concept, but rom-com fans have dubbed Kristen Bell‘s chic ensemble in Nobody Wants This as the ideal ensemble – and it can be purchased for only $50.

The 10-episode Netflix series stars Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, both 44, and comes from writer Erin Foster, daughter of David Foster and stepdaughter of Katharine McPhee.

The series – currently number one on the streaming service – tells a charming story about a couple, Noah (Brody) and Joanne (Bell), falling in love and navigating significant religious differences, as the former is a rabbi and the latter is agnostic.

While fans are raving about the series due to its adorable storyline – praising it for bringing back the rom-com – the outfits worn by Joanna are also being applauded for nailing the perfect date-night look with a casual-chic $50 top.

The scene in question takes place in episode one, where Joanne first meets Noah at a friend’s dinner party, she pulls off her large fur coat (her grandmother’s, and not real, she assures guests) to reveal her sexy, black off-the-shoulder top.

The top, which crosses over at the front and front, has sheer sleeves, giving it a sultry evening look, which she pairs with black jeans and a belt.

As far as ‘jeans and a nice top’ go, the character of Joanne appears to have nailed it; delighting viewers with a series of effortless date-night outfits.

Eager TikTok users tracked down the top from Abercrombie & Fitch, which is called long sleeve off the shoulder wrap mesh bodysuit, which was currently on sale for $34.99, down from $60, but is now sold out.

The brand also make a similar design, the long-sleeve mesh foldover bodysuit, which retails for $50.

The semi-sheer look was a hit with anyone who has yearned for the perfect casual-but-sexy look, with fans raving over the affordable find.

‘This is the perfect first date fit,’ one user declared. ‘Then top is so sexy without being too revealing.’

‘I wore something super similar on my first date with my bf and now we live together. Facts,’ a second chimed in.

‘No way! I have this top but it’s actually a version that’s not a bodysuit ! Loveee,’ someone else gushed.

The first episode wasn’t the only affordable date-night top worn by Joanne, with fans also loving her black button up and blue-denim combination she sported when she and Noah went on their first official date.

The top, called the long-sleeved fitted shirt from Mango retails for $59.99, although has sold out in size small.

Nobody Wants This debuted on Netflix last week. Bell plays Joanne, who is ardently looking for love and then talking about all her bad dates on the podcast she shares with her sister, Morgan (Justine Lupe).

Things grow complicated when Joanne meets Noah (Brody) who is fresh off a near-engagement to Rebecca (Emily Arlook), after realizing that the relationship was something she and his family wanted but he didn’t.

Noah is a rabbi and tells Joanne there’s nothing worse for his professional image than falling for a shiksa – which, as per Brody’s character in the series, is a ‘Yiddish insult that means you’re impure and detestable, but these days it just means you’re a hot, blonde non-Jew.’

So begins the quirky storyline and fiery chemistry between the lead actors as they navigate their two worlds and falling in love.
