Jenna Ortega is providing an update on the status of the upcoming second season of Wednesday!
The 21-year-old actress has taken a break from filming the new episodes as she promotes her new movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
During a recent interview for the film, Jenna dished on where they are at in the filming process and teased the new season.
“We’re knee deep in that, and we officially finished four episodes,” she told ET. “Everything is going well so far. It’s just, um, we’re sticking to our roots but it’s become much bigger and a lot more fleshed out, characters have really incredible arcs, we have incredible set pieces, the storylines. It just feels a lot more exciting from the jump, which I think audiences will have a lot more to play with.”
She was then asked if it was just as or more exciting to dive in deeper to Wednesday Addams in season two.
“I’d say probably more because the first time around, it was the pressure of working with Tim [Burton] for the first time, everyone loves this character, you know, no one’s ever happy with sort of hearing about these sort of things [aka reboots] and you have to prove yourself a little bit,” Jenna said. “It’s a strange feeling, but this second time around, seeing how it was received, obviously there’s that pressure to keep pushing it further and making it greater. But also, it’s a joy to… you’ve found the rhythm now.”
Wednesday season two kicked off production in early May in Ireland. Find out which stars are returning, who isn’t and all of the new additions to the cast!
