DDG has responded after being dissed by Kendrick Lamar affiliate Hitta J3 over his recent collaboration with Tory Lanez.
Lanez appears on DDG’s new EP Handling Business, and he shouts out Drake on his verse as he seemingly discusses the beef between Drizzy and K.Dot.
“I be up praying and waiting for the day that n-ggas come for me the way they did Drizzy/ I got the card in the wallet and big brodie’s problems are my problems, so fuck how you feeling about it/ Brodie gone stand on his own, but 2024, it ain’t no fair ones in Toronto,” he raps.
J3 apparently wasn’t feeling the Kendrick slight, so he took to X to speak his mind – and DDG caught a stray in the process.
“Tory better chill out only person coming for him is the guard on that cell block nah but free that man,” he wrote. “DDG seen me at rich the kid party & looked like he seen a ghost & I said wassup he act like he was legally blind. The boy must really need help he got prisoners speaking up for him before his industry friends lol.” he theorized.
DDG then addressed the comments during a live stream – and laughed as he noted he didn’t even know who J3 is.
“I don’t even know who this is,” he said as he read the posts. “This how I look at it. A lot of people is getting mad at me like I rapped the verse. This is my analogy — that’s like Drake beefing with SZA because SZA fuck with Kendrick. But it’s my song so I understand, but if a n-gga sent you a verse and you put it out, what that mean? I just put it out. My verse was old.”
In other news, DDG recently claimed that he has not moved on from Halle Bailey despite their split and he hopes they can have more children together.
The shocking remarks come following a public row between the former couple after DDG took their son Halo on Kai Cenat‘s livestream without telling Bailey.
Opening up on his YouTube channel, DDG said: “I do want to have another kid. But I will say this — I don’t want to have another kid too far away. Like, I don’t want Halo to be 10 and his little brother is 1. I feel like that defeats the entire purpose of having another kid.”
He added: “One thing that I do not want to do is have ‘baby mamas’. If I was to have another kid, it definitely would be with the same person. I don’t want to have kids with multiple people.”
DDG then cleared up his relationship status: “No, I’m not dating. I haven’t ‘moved on,’ whatever that means in y’all’s sense. I’m just really focused on work — that’s what I be trying to explain to y’all. This week, I done linked with three girls — for work purposes — and I go on TikTok and I see y’all making edits like I’m dating this girl. Y’all don’t even know. I’m just working.”
