Cardi B has canceled an upcoming performance after she was hospitalized a few days ago due to a medical emergency.
The rapper posted a note on her social media accounts this afternoon announcing the cancellation of her performance at this weekend’s ONE MusicFest event scheduled to take place in Atlanta.
“I am so sad to share this news, but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days and I won’t be able to perform at ONE MusicFest,” she wrote. “It breaks my heart that I wont get to see my fans this weekend and I really wish I could be thee. Bardi Gang — thank you for understanding and I’ll be back better and stronger soon. Don’t Worry. Love yall.”
Organizers for ONE MusicFest issued its own statement on social media, echoing Cardi’s statement. “Hey #OMFFam! Unfortunately, @iamcardib announced that she is no longer available to join us this year due to ongoing health issues,” reads the post. “Let’s all keep her in our prayers for a full recovery! We are working hard to find a replacement at this late date. More to come soon.”
Just last week, Cardi was in Los Angeles on a nine-day trip where she hosted a session on X Spaces, discussing plans for her long-awaited sophomore album. “It’s gonna be amazing and unique because everything I do it gotta be amazing and unique,” she said. “I’m sorry for the delay. It’s not gonna be a crazy delay. It’s gonna come out amazing. I’m gonna be out here for nine days.”
ONE MusicFest is slated to take over Atlanta’s Civic Center. Cardi was supposed to headline on Saturday night alongside Earth, Wind & Fire and Nelly, with additional performances from Fantasia, Ari Lennox, Method Man and Redman, Young Nudy, Larry June and more. On Sunday, Victoria Monét will headline with Gunna and Jill Scott, with subsequent performances from GloRilla, Keyshia Cole, Sexyy Red and more.
