New details have emerged regarding the distressing 911 call made after the discovery of actor Gene Hackman’s body.
A panicked male voice is heard on the call, telling the dispatcher that he has found two motionless bodies and urgently requesting help at the Santa Fe, New Mexico residence.
TMZ reported that the caller, whose identity was withheld, was audibly upset, repeatedly exclaiming ‘Damn’ and sniffling.
Alarmingly, the caller, thought to be one of the two maintenance workers who discovered the bodies, was reportedly uncertain if they had found one or two deceased individuals.
The Oscar-winning actor Hackman, aged 95, and wife Betsy Arakawa, 64, were found partially mummified in separate rooms of their $3.3 million home on Wednesday afternoon.
The dispatcher can be heard asking the caller for information about the ‘patients’.
The caller was unable to provide details on Hackman or Arakawa’s ages or genders. He stated there was no movement from inside the house.
The caller was standing outside looking through a window while making the 911 call, it was reported.
Autopsy results could take four to six weeks to be released, according to local officials.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office in New Mexico released a statement confirming the “active investigation” into the couple’s deaths.

It read: “We can confirm that both Gene Hackman and his wife were found deceased Wednesday afternoon at their residence on Sunset Trail.
“This is an active investigation – however, at this time we do not believe that foul play was a factor.”
Elizabeth Hackman, the daughter of the deceased, was among those who initially speculated that her father and stepmother may have died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
However, it has since been revealed that a firefighter, called to the scene after the bodies were discovered, found no evidence of a gas leak.
