RAY-Busted! Troubled Singer Ray J Hits Rock Bottom After Amex Sues Over MASSIVE Unpaid Bills

HE was the “Sexy Can I” superstar who had it all—the fame, the fortune, and a seat at the top table of Hollywood’s elite.
But today, RAY J is looking more like “Broke Can I” as he faces a spectacular fall from grace that has left even his most die-hard fans reeling. The R&B bad boy is drowning in a sea of lawsuits, and the numbers are enough to make your eyes water.
The 45-year-old singer—real name William Ray Norwood Jr.—is being dragged into court by American Express over a staggering unpaid credit card bill of $78,704.56.
But that’s just the tip of a very expensive iceberg for the star, whose life appears to be spiraling out of control faster than a Kardashian news cycle.
CASH CRASH
According to bombshell legal documents filed in the Superior Court of California and seen by PEOPLE, the credit card giants are suing for breach of contract.
Amex claims the singer simply stopped making payments on the account around October 2024. And they aren’t just after Ray; the lawsuit also names Rajun Cajun Inc., a company linked to the star.

If you thought nearly $80k was a heavy hit, think again. This fresh legal nightmare follows another massive lawsuit filed just months ago in November 2025.
In that case, Amex went after Ray J and his company, Tronix Network, for a whopping $139,849.85. That brings his alleged total debt to the credit company to nearly A QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS.
Insiders say the payments on that account mysteriously dried up in May 2025, leaving the singer in the crosshairs of some very powerful debt collectors.
THANKSGIVING FROM HELL
But it’s not just his bank balance that’s taking a battering. Ray J’s personal life exploded in the most public way possible during a terrifying incident last November.
The singer was ARRESTED after allegedly pulling a gun on his estranged wife, Princess Love, during a high-stakes argument—which was being broadcast live on the internet!
The “Worst Thanksgiving in the f***ing world” turned into a night behind bars after he was booked into a Los Angeles jail and charged with making a criminal threat. Though he was released on $50,000 bail, the shocking footage of the livestream showed a man pushed to the absolute edge.
In the clip, a frantic Ray J accused his ex of wanting to “drive drunk,” but it was the sight of a firearm that left viewers horrified.
THE KARDASHIAN WAR
As if debt collectors and criminal charges weren’t enough, Ray J is currently locked in a “war to the death” with the most powerful family in showbiz: The Kardashians.
The singer has been swinging wild, claiming that Kim Kardashian and “Momager” Kris Jenner are the subjects of a federal investigation.
Unsurprisingly, the Queens of Calabasas didn’t take that lying down. Their powerhouse attorney, Alex Spiro, hit back, saying:
“Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian have never brought a defamation claim before… but this false and serious allegation left no choice.”
Ray J isn’t backing off, though. He’s filed a cross-complaint, claiming the mother-daughter duo breached a $6 million settlement regarding their infamous 2003 sex tape by yapping about it on their reality show, The Kardashians.
In a final, desperate twist, he’s doubling down on claims that the tape was a coordinated release overseen by Kris Jenner herself back in 2006.

On March 10, both Kim and Kris filed declarations in a Los Angeles court, flatly denying his claims. They want him silenced, but with his back against the wall, Ray J seems ready to burn everything down.
IS IT GAME OVER?
From a high-rolling tech mogul and reality king to a man being sued for the price of a luxury sports car, Ray J’s world is crumbling.
With nearly $220,000 in alleged credit card debt, a criminal record growing by the day, and the legal might of the Kardashian empire coming for his throat, the “One Wish” singer might need more than just one wish to get out of this mess.
Ray J is finished. The only question left is: how much lower can he go?
