THE CCTV FOOTAGE SHOWS A CHILLING TURNING POINT…

Authorities and witnesses are piecing together the exact moment everything changed on 63rd & Drexel in Chicago.

According to multiple accounts, Lil Mikey (29, Jaro City) was sitting in a car waiting while the woman he was with went inside the gas station. That’s when he crossed paths with another man — someone he reportedly knew and believed he was cool with.

Words quickly turned into a heated argument right out in the open. Sources and witness breakdowns say Lil Mikey made a pump-fake motion, as if he were reaching for or had a gun on him. He then started to walk off toward a nearby area (some reports mention Cottage Grove direction).

That split-second decision appears to have been the tipping point.

The other individual pulled out a firearm, approached, and opened fire — striking Lil Mikey multiple times (reports consistently mention around 10 shots, including a chest wound). Some accounts describe the shooter standing over him and continuing to fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Aftermath videos from the gas station area have circulated online, showing the chaotic scene with people reacting in shock as police and medical responders arrived. While full clear CCTV of the shooting itself hasn’t been publicly released in mainstream outlets, street footage and second-angle clips have given a raw look at the immediate aftermath.

The incident is widely described as personal — stemming from an argument between people who knew each other — rather than a planned hit from rival sets. It happened in broad daylight in an area some call neutral territory, though it’s tied to local claims.

Lil Mikey had only been home a short time after serving over a decade in prison on an attempted murder conviction. He was pushing music again and trying to move forward. Many in the Chicago scene are left stunned that his second chance ended so violently and so soon.

These moments captured on camera — the pause, the fake, the sudden escalation — highlight how fast a situation can go from words to finality on the streets.

Rest in peace to Jaro City Lil Mikey 🕊️ Condolences to his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.
